All rental applications are processed through in-house and/or third-party services and are subject to approval based on any and all applicable income restrictions or applicant-screening requirements. Affordable Housing

Bottineau Commons & Lofts participates in the Housing Tax Credit affordable housing program. Bottineau Commons & Lofts accepts Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers and other forms of rental assistance programs.

Household maximum income limits and all full-time student household limitations apply. The household income is based on gross annual income (before taxes and any deductions) earned and unearned from all sources including, but not limited to; employment, social security, unemployment, child support, public assistance, pensions, annuities, interest income, dividends, stocks, bonds, insurance settlements, recurring gifts from family/friends, lottery winnings, etc.

Income documentation will be required for all household members. Total gross household income must be under the following limits based on household size:

Step 1: Review Eligibility

This property participates in different levels of affordable housing programs. Please contact the office to inquire about other affordable housing programs we participate in. If you are interested in the low-income housing tax credit program, the maximum household income limits are below.

If you hold a housing voucher and it is equal to or higher than the current rent limits assigned to the property, you are welcome to apply.

Minimum Household Income: Two times (2x) the rent.

Step 2: Submit Application and Fees

Online applications are currently unavailable for Affordable/Income-Restricted apartment homes. To apply, please contact our team to schedule an appointment to complete your application and required paperwork in person. To help avoid delays, please bring the required documentation for all household members to your appointment. Depending on your household and sources of income, documentation may include the following.

  • Government-issued photo identification
  • Social Security cards or other required identification documents
  • Proof of income, such as Social Security, child support, and employment
  • Bank or asset statements
  • Benefit documentation, if applicable
  • Documentation for any additional sources of household income
  • Other documents requested by the leasing or compliance team to verify eligibility

*Additional documentation may be required based on your household circumstances and the specific affordable housing program.

All adult household members age 18 or older must complete an application and participate in the required screening and eligibility verification process.

The applicable application fee and security deposit are due at the time of application to reserve an apartment.

Our team will contact you once the application has been processed and reviewed for lease and compliance approval.

Step 3: Schedule Move-In Orientation

Upon application approval, a member of our leasing team will contact you to schedule your move-in orientation. During this appointment, we will verify that your Resident Portal is set up, the apartment utilities are in your name, collect the first rent payment, sign your lease, give you a tour of the community and apartmet, and hand over the keys to your new home!

*IMPORTANT NOTE:  Rent rates are subject to change yearly based upon HUD’s adjustment of the income limits for the specified area. The rent rates may change when new limits are released. Rent is not based on the household’s income. The rental amount remains the same for the full term of your one-year lease.
